Charles David Liddell was born on December 17 1969 in Santa Barbara, California. At the age of 12 Liddell started training in Koei-Kan and continued training this throughout his childhood and some of his career. If you look closely LIddell has the words Koei-Kan on his scalp because he believes this was the root of his fighting success. Liddell wrestled in division one which would improve his wrestling game by enormous amounts. Once he began fighting MMA he had to diversify his fighting game so began to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Which would put more tools in his arsenal making him a lethal fighter.
Chuck Liddell made his UFC debut in UFC 17, he won this fight. His second fight was less successful however his skill in the sport was obvious. People began to respect him as a fighter and his name would start to gain recognition in the UFC. He lead a very successful career wining 21 of 29 fights. During UFC 100 Chuck was inducted to the UFC Hall of Fame. He ended his career three fights later after losing all three. Chuck was a very skilled fighter and letting go of his career was one of the biggest challenges he was faced with. The Ice Man will always be remembered as one of the fan favorites and well deserved his spot in the Hall of Fame.
